Title: 1/48 Gribovsky G-10 Commenced 27 NOV 2017 Completed 20 DEC 2017
Post by: Boomerang on December 11, 2017, 11:00:20 PM

This what I alluded to in the ping.

1/48 th.  Built from the bits box. Wheels/ spats and tail plane are basswood. Rest is balsa. Cylinders are balsa dowel threaded with a nut.

1930's sports plane.

Cheers

Beautifully done. Never thought of using a nut over a dowel for cooling fins.

I might get it finished by the end of the year.

It's all just clipped and blue tacked together at the moment.

Only one was built . Started out with a 3 cylinder engine (45 HP)with a later upgrade to 5 cylinders(65 HP).
Limited photographs around (that I can find).

There is one picture in the March 1936 Flying ACES magazine which shows the later version "at a     basic flight school".

I can't find this picture on the net.

Soooo...  Cylinders have been jazzed up with push rods, inlet and outlet pipes.
Cockpit has been cleaned up with a rotary tool and Coaming has been added.

Picture to follow.

Cheers

Some more progress. Still only clipped and blue tacked together.

Have made a couple of propeller blades .

Should be all done in a couple of days.

The pilot must have had a crooked neck to fly this. I don't see any forward visibility through that top cylinder.

I like it . Looks abit  Comper swift ish.

I'll crank up the technology and scan the picture that started it all.

Struts are done. Fuselage decals applied.

Shouldn't be too long in getting it finished.

Thank you Paul and Lou.

I enjoyed it. The colour scheme is from the website that I found.

I was going to go with another combination but then found the website.

Another rare bird is on the cards for the New Year.

Cheers
