Elmer's Glue

Since the subject of Elmer's Glue in the UK came up in another board, I thought I'd look into the history of the glue, which, as Lou wrote, is very common in North America.  Every schoolchild since WW II has probably gone to school with a bottle of Elmer's glue.

Elmer's was part of Borden (a dairy company), which makes sense because their white glue is a milk-based casein glue.  What I didn't know was that Elmer's owns X-Acto.

Also, the link above has an interesting tid-bit about the Elmer's logo, which is a bull named Elmer, and how he is related to Elsie the Cow, the Borden logo!
