Starting to rub down the Auster AOP.9 in readiness for the primer.

Barry, I remember being in the tower at Rivers, Manitoba and watching an Auster take off. Being used to Cessna L19's it seemed to use up a lot of runway. It had been sold as surplus and was on it's way to a new home....This was spring 1958

Interesting memories Pete,yes the Auster series were quite heavy aircraft requiring a decent take off run with nil wind component.
