Title: WW2 Vintage models
Post by: Biggles on March 26, 2018, 04:49:49 AM
Hey guys.

Just found these pics of some models my great uncle made is WW2. He was a anti aircraft gunner stationed in Darwin and made these in his spare time. my aunt made them into a mobile with his helmet.

Able,

Would make a good restoration project.

Was he there for the bombing?

My father was with the 19th Battalion ( Darwin Infantry) at the time.

Cheers

An excellent opportunity to show what models could do with very basic tools and a good eye. I hope to see them restored to there original glory.

Boomerang, wow! its a small world as they say...

I don't know if he was in Darwin for the bombings, but I assume so. he served in Darwin, Syria, Borneo etc. as well.

My great aunt has them, and I made a new engine nacelle with some firewood and a pocket knife a few years ago when I was over there.

Not sure if she has plans of restoring them, but maybe in time.
