Title: 1/72 Stuka (1940s hardwood)
Post by: Mark Braunlich on May 20, 2023, 04:12:14 PM
This is a 1/72 Stuka made from a kit in the 1940s,  I just made a new lead propeller for it as the original was missing.

Beautiful JU-87 Mark. I will consider this a refurbishment and worthy of posting in the 2023 Yearbook. Do you know the brand?

Well done on the refurbishment. Perhaps you could give some detail on how you made the propeller from lead!  I have a quantity of zinc that I may try casting parts with.

Gearup,
I have a collection of lead propellers made/sold as aftermarket items for solid models in the 1930s-50s.  I just modified the blade shape with a file and some emery cloth, clipped off the blades, glued them to the original Stuka spinner and painted them flat black.   Pretty easy really.
