Title: Nosecone made using 15mm dia plastic biro pen body.
Post by: buccfan on February 07, 2016, 11:14:53 PM
I recently made a nosecone for an Egg plane from the above parts, and Lou suggested to post what I did. The picture is self explanatory really, but I cut the silver section where it butts up to the white part, then cut the coloured body to the required length and used plastic cement to join them. I also removed the narrow section on the front of the silver and glued on a piece of sprue to seal the end. When the glue had set I fitted a piece of dowel tightly inside so I could hold it in a drill and gently shaped the nose to the required shape. The silver colour comes off when sanded.   The Egg Plane idea is one I saw on Egg Plane Masters on Facebook not mine. Regards Paul J.
