Hi!
I am thinking about making some wooden tanks. maybe a Renault FT. has any one had experience with making tanks? thanks.

Not much on this subject. Garet made a WWI tank some time ago. Searching his projects should give you a starting point.  Perhaps an on line search. Good luck and let us know.

I tried to make the tank per the original instructions, which were for a kit with balsa parts that had inked details on them already.  As a result, I didn't use any sort of filler on my balsa parts and used thinned paint so that the printing would show through.

I printed my balsa by printing out the plan details on a laser printer and transferring the toner to my balsa by ironing it on with a clothes iron.

It was a fun project and went together pretty quickly.

I checked through our archives and found a few more tank plans from Whitman kits. I'll do my best to get those posted soon.
