Hey Guys,
I've not had much time for building lately, but I have been doing some web research on RAF/RCAF Colours and their appropriate model paints. There is alot of info out there on colour (the plastic guys are obsessed, bless their souls) and I've been trying to wade through the cross references etc to make a bit of a guide for myself.
Here are some links I've found most useful:
http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/page-RGB-colors-UK.html This shows colours wonderfully and gives coresponding RGB and CMKY values. I've used this for when I was making decals and markings for my Spitfires and "Garet Scale" models
http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/uklw_e.htm This is the Don Colour site with tons of great info and colour samples. It also has a chronoplogical list of when the orders came out to change paint schemes, helping to guess the paint job on a FAA Martlet in 1944...
http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_uk.htm This is the "Urban's Colour Reference Charts" for the RAF. For all the others go back to http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp This is a most impressive site with more xrefs than you can shake a stir stick at.
Take care friends,
