Title: SMM Picked up on Thingiverse Blog
Post by: Oceaneer99 on April 30, 2009, 05:07:58 PM
I just noticed that Solid Model Memories got picked up on the Thingiverse Blog! It looks like he really liked the Guillows plans, Ray.

The site is run by Bre Pettis, formerly host of Make: Magazine's Weekend Projects podcast, who is also host of the History Hacker program on the History Channel.  It's influential in the "Maker" community, who are people like us who like to create things.  The Thingiverse web site features creative-commons 3D models for use in rapid prototyping machines.  So don't be surprised if someone makes a Guillows JETO transport with a laser cutter sometime soon.

He found us via a photo I posted to Flickr of my model submarines, so post early and often!  And to think I'd pretty much stopped posting at Flickr.

Yes, good news, perhaps you should make a comment on the blog. Thank him for his post and let him know about the group.
Flickr even has postings by The Library of Congress and the Smithsonian as well as many other major archival bodies. It is searched a lot. That is why good tags and picture titles are important.
