A new model is on the bench in the form of a 1/72 Northrop Delta on floats. A Delta was the first to crash Canadian soil at the beginning of WWII. Delta 673 was on a ferry flight to Halifax with the accident occurring in northern New Brunswick and was on skis at the time.
The model is in block form and constructed from basswood.

Those big fillets will be fun to make.

Lots of putty and some delicate sanding.
Lou
Very slow progress on all my projects. Here we have the Delta fairing done and float primed and sanded.

Looks good so far Lou.
The RAAF had one that was impressed in WW2.
Cheers

Thank you Gordon. we had 20 Deltas, but none survived to this day. There is a derelict from a crash site that is being restored, however their cash situation is dire and no progress has been made in a few years.
Lou
The base metallic paint has been applied.

Floats are assembled and ready for paint.

Roll out 1 Aug 2022. Another float plane for my collection and number 88 of 100 in my RCAF project.

A brilliant result Lou.
