A new project started at the shipyard. A Yards Mine Sweeper YMS-1 in my constant 1/350 scale. I hope it does not take 5 years to finish this one.

😀👍
She is pretty small at 4.66 in.

I figured out that using screen materiel and some creative cutting and gluing makes fair decent ladders in 1/350. See the photo for the process. Gluing the two parts together is a bit tricky but after several attempts it worked out.
Lou
Very clever to fit two pieces together to get the rung spacing!
One cannot afford those aftermarket parts so innovation is required in our hobby.
Lou
Side boards glued. I will sand them flush to the hull.
Lou
The hull has been filled and sanded followed by painting. The beck house structure and funnel are attached.
Lou
Depth charges and ammo storage lockers installed.
Lou
Mid ship depth charges, ladders and misc. equipment installed.

Moving along. I had to rebuild a number of parts as I kept loosing them, especially the guns. 50 Cal are quite small in 1/350 scale. Some items are larger than scale due to using wood. Standing a few feet always evens things out. All that remains is the railings and paint.

Launch occurred at 5PM on 30 Oct 2020. She joins the fleet making 13 ship in all including Garet's PT-09.
Lou
Many small parts.

ID Flotilla.

Looks great as always Lou.
A boat is still on the cards at a later date
Gordon
Thank you Gordon. It will be a long while before I launch another. The Ark Royal is still in the dream stage.
