I have chosen to do a Seahawk like Jorrit. This image is a link to "The-Blueprint" web site.

These may or may not be the colour scheme I will choose, but it is attractive.

Lou
PS there may be more as I have a good stock of 3/8 inch wood.

Jorrit, did you compensate for the thinner fuselage? Garet's compensated by making a top cross section of the fuselage.  Your wings do not look out of scale. Please advise your method. My first profile will be the Sea Hawk.

Jorrit responded by email:

Hey Lou,
I have always used the outlinings of the 3views of aircraft. Full wingspan no compensation. In some cases I have prolonged the wing to fit to the fuselage.
It really depends on the model

Not wanting to get behind the eight ball, here are 4 models I will make at once and maybe make a mobile. Sea Hawk will be first. Missing is the Buckeye. All are naval aircraft and have mid-wings.

Hi guys.
There is a long time since a post my last message.
I hope you're well.
I would like to participate with a T-27 Tucano profile.
Here is the 3 view drawing:

Best regards,
Marcos.

First installment in making the Sea Hawk. I measured the center line of the fuselage to the wing root and removed all but 1/18 inch on either side of center line. Now the wings are still to scale but now shorter overall due to the now 1/4 inch thick fuselage. The sea Hawk in 1/72 minimal. I hear that term from Cliff who made allowances to scale building to the betterment of his workmanship.

Lou

Welcome Jorrit and Marcos to the group build.

Progress report. Going to the market tomorrow so I cut out lots of parts to carve and sand.

I offer tutorial service for any new member wishing to join in the profile cook-up. I will even do it just using my paring knife, which is a match for the one I used to borrow from my mom and catch hell when she tried to peel potatoes with a dull knife.

Could we modify it to allow for an "Air-toons" style profile entry? I think I have an idea...

lastvautour

Yes indeed. All rules are suggestive in nature. HOWEVER if you post something new, you know I will have to make room on my bench. As it stands today I have 5 profiles, 2 Spitfires, 1 Mustang, 1 Sabre, I T2 Tanker, 1 Bruno Stillman Fishing boat and a toy biplane all being worked on. Oh, I forgot, an ORCA patrol/training ship. What is one more?

Please post all details with lots of photos.

Since mid-wing aircraft are particularly good subjects for profiles, I found this link:

Note that it is possible to do other types of planes in profile. I have made a number of X-planes and two different PBY Catalina models.
