Title: Waco ZQC-6 Custom Cabin biplane
Post by: Mothman on May 28, 2013, 01:50:56 PM
Hi all, This is a new master pattern for a vac-form kit. The patterns of course, come under the SMM banner, being solid.
This is 1/48th scale, made in Ureol block for the fuselage halves, steamed pear, my favourite wood, for the upper wing surfaces and 60 thou. styrene for the under surfaces.

I chose the Waco because an American chum flooded me with info and references for this very complex series of aircraft. But I'm getting to like it and it will sell to all those Canadian and Alaskan bush-plane fans.  That's the idea, anyway. It'll be the first of my GuildAero series of detailed, but low-price kits.  White metal detail parts, but no expensive resin.

Hello Martin,

It's looking very nice!! I especially like the cabin windows they look very precisely done. Where will your vacuum form kit be available from?
