1/60 Nakajima Ki-43 -II Oscar Started 13th May 20 Completed 21 JUNE 2020

Starting to finish it off . I think I've got the right colour for mottle. Some decals applied.

 these two pictures show the start of putting on the mottle .

Seemed to work OK . Did experiment with a made up sponge but in the end a paint brush was used.

It is not the same as the illustration . Just let the mind and the brush do the work whilst trying to keep in mind not to create a pattern.
From what I can find out it was applied by hand using sponges .

Leaving off the aerial wire . There are errors and omissions but it looks like a Ki-43.

That is a very nice looking model. It never occurred to me that a sponge could have been used to apply the mottled camouflage..
