Sometimes just a good wash and brushup will restore a model, here my Short Scion and Foster Wikner Wicko have had a wash in warm water with a tiny bit of washing up liquid added.

Thanks Barry. Very informative. Do you plan to post your  procedure in  the "techniques" section? Also it would be nice to know what finish the models were done in and therefore gauge the effect a wash might have. I've got a few that are pretty old and so far have relied on dusting only.

These two were done in gloss Humbrol enamel in the days when my eyesight was better,a finish that I rarely use these days and prefer car auto rattle cans for simple bold finishes.
You can also use baby shampoo which is very mild,I had not thought about the techniques section, must take a look at what is on there ?
