Title: Supreme Solid Models F4U Corsair By John P.
Post by: lastvautour on March 26, 2012, 02:23:02 PM
I quote John P from the description on his photo.

I'm 82 now, but still hold fond memories of model making when I was a kid. I thought it would be great if one of my grandsons (age 11) might catch the bug. When I opened up this flea market find, I saw it might be too big a first-try for him, so I decided to make it for him. Looking back in time, I realized I never had the patience or skill to build it when I was his age. I have more tools and better supplies than what came in the kit. Still, it wasn't easy. Missed the smell and fast-drying characteristics of the old glue they used back then. Today's acrylic paints seem more workable than dealing with the bottles of dope paint, too. Anyhow, it all was very nostalgic!

The models has turned out great. John, I would appreciate more photos of side and 1/4 views. And by the way, age has never been a consideration on this site.

A very good effort indeed, and what a find at a flea market, the kit looks to be in excellent condition.
